General Information
Second Language Evaluation (SLE): Candidates applying for bilingual positions must be able to demonstrate their capabilities to work in English and in French by achieving at least a CBC rating on the Public Service Commission's Second Language Evaluation (SLE) test. The SLE is designed to evaluate second language proficiency to the required linguistic profile. The first letter corresponds to the level for reading comprehension, the second letter corresponds to the level for written expression, and the third letter corresponds to the level for oral proficiency. Job Description and Duties
The incumbent may be called upon to perform the following activities or a combination thereof:
Receive, review, analyse, and research taxpayer information from internal and external sources to identify and resolve taxpayer accounts requiring corrective action such as misallocated payments, or compliance action, requirements to file, and issuing assessments.
Review, plan, organize, prioritize, and monitor an assigned workload for the administration and enforcement of trust accounts compliance, related to payroll deductions and GST/HST, and the collection of outstanding amounts.
Respond to taxpayer enquiries and complaints relating to a variety of issues associated with Trust Accounts.
Verify and amend taxpayer data such as address, filing or registration status, information relating to payments or remittances in CRA databases, update taxpayer accounts based on information received from taxpayers, internal and external sources, and maintain a record of actions taken.
Interview taxpayers, their representatives or third parties to determine reasons for non-compliance, explain policies and procedures, and arrange to collect any outstanding returns or amounts.
Participate in projects designed to identify areas of non-compliance.
Transfer accounts and make referrals to other areas within CRA. 

Staffing Requirements - Screening for prerequisites
Education
A secondary school diploma or an Agency approved alternative.
Candidates with foreign education credentials must have their education confirmed by arecognized credential assessment service, please visit the Canadian Information Centre of International Credentials website at www.cicic.ca.
Candidates with foreign accounting designations must have their designation confirmed by one of the recognized professional accounting associations.

Experience
The experience requirements outlined in this Job Notice relate to all jobs advertised on this Job Notice unless specifically indicated otherwise. 

Essential
Experience* in the financial services sector or similar setting handling client accounts or collecting accounts receivable. 

OR
Experience* dealing directly with clients or third parties to resolve outstanding financial issues. This includes, but is not limited to initiating contact, arranging appropriate follow-up, resolving complaints, making decisions or negotiating satisfactory arrangements or outcomes.
*Experience that would normally be associated with performance of these functions as part of the major job duties accomplished for a period of no less than 9 months consecutively in approximately the last 2 years.

Staffing Requirements - Assessment

Essential Assessment
The following competency WILL be assessed:
Writing Skills - (level 2)
To be considered for a bilingual position, you must obtain a level 2 on either the Writing Skills Test (B305)(previous version B300).
OR the Test d'Aptitudes à écrire (TAE) (B306)(previous version B303).
You may choose to write both the WST (B305) and the TAE (B306) and avail yourself of the best result.
You must confirm, prior to taking this test, if it is your intent to write both tests, B305 and B306.
Retest period: 180 days

Situational Judgement Test - Recruitment Version (C301):
The following qualification WILL be assessed by the Situational Judgement Test - Recruitment Version (C301) and a pass mark of 55/102 must be attained:
Ability to use judgement in work-related situations

The re-test period for the above-mentioned exam is 180 days from the last test date.
Candidates who have already taken and passed this test have the option of keeping their existing score or re-writing the test to improve their score. If you wish to retain and use your existing score on this test for this process please fax a copy of your results to Michael Wilson, Human Resources at (705) 670-6764 indicating the advertisement number.
Please note that by faxing a copy of your results, you are indicating that you do not wish to re-write and therefore you will not receive an invitation to write this test as part of the assessment phase.
If you choose to re-write you must ensure the time period restrictions for retesting are met. For this standardized assessment tool only the most recent result is valid, regardless if it is higher or lower than your previous result. As a result, this could impact your eligibility for an appointment in this and any other staffing processes, where applicable.
We may use test results from a particular standardized test to appoint a candidate.

Discretionary Assessment
The following qualifications MAY be assessed using locally developed tools. Candidates must achieve the required pass marks shown.

Results from locally developed assessment tools are only portable to the SP-04 Trust Accounts Compliance Officer – staffing process # 13780. Results from locally developed assessment tools may be used for appointment.
DOCUMENTS THAT WILL BE REQUIRED IF YOU ARE INVITED TO THE TESTING SESSION:
a.     Two (2) pieces of identification of which one must be a photo identification card and copies of both.
b.    Proof of citizenship, (e.g. Birth Certificate or Passport) and copy.
c.     A list of home addresses held over the last 5 years, including dates (in order).
d.    Employment history for the past 2 years including dates, job titles, names of companies/businesses worked for, locations of employment, supervisor name and telephone number. If you have not worked in the last two years, you will need to provide us with the names and telephone numbers of 3 character references, including their name, telephone number and relationship to you.
e.     Proof of education.
f.      If you have resided in a country other than Canada in the past 5 years, you mustobtain a 'Certificate of Good Conduct' from the local police force in the city where you resided. Your application for a security clearance will not be processedwithout the original document.
Please note that this process may take several weeks, however, if you have resided in Canada for the past 5 years, this document is not required.
