Do you thrive in a challenging and dynamic work environment? Are you interested in playing an active role in offender rehabilitation and community safety? Then Community Corrections is just the place for you! We are currently looking to fill a permanent Probation Officer position in St. Paul.

As a Probation Officer you will administer a broad range of Community Corrections programs and services to offenders, including but not limited to probation, conditional sentence, fine option, alternative measures and community supervision. Using your advanced interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) you will conduct investigations, prepare temporary absence applications, draft reports, and attend court. Superior time management skills are critical to effectively complete case management activities.
Qualifications
Directly related university degree/diploma or in-service Criminal Justice Certificate is required. Preference will be given to those with recent experience in Community Corrections and/or case management.

It is recommended that applicants who have obtained educational credentials from outside of Canada and have not had them previously assessed, obtain an evaluation of their credentials from the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) -http://eae.alberta.ca/labour-and-immigration/overview-of-immigration/international-qualifications-assessment-service.aspx. It is recommended that applicants include the assessment certificate from IQAS or any other educational assessment service as part of their application.
Salary
$2,183.80 - $3,073.98 Bi-weekly
Notes
Proof of a valid Alberta Driver's License is required and final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening. Pending approval, this job opening may be used to fill future vacancies within the Government of Alberta.
