Publication or Company  Real Estate Publisher Industry  Magazine Publishing, Newspapers, Real Estate Job Duration Full Time Job Location New York, NY Experience Level 3 years Job Requirements The Cooperator is looking for an experienced full-time associate editor/writer to supplement our growing family of publications. The position will entail working closely with the Managing Editor and Publisher on several monthly magazines. The candidate will also be involved in editorial assignments, first-draft copy editing of manuscripts, and handling of pre-production planning and other details. The Associate Editor will also have the opportunity to write one or more bylined articles per month and the ability to function as a team player is essential. Superior organizational skills and excellent oral and written communications skills are a must. Knowledge of residential real estate is a plus. Computer literacy essential on PC-based systems—competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based applications preferred.  Qualifications: • Assisting with the management of freelance writers for various Cooperator publications; researching, writing and distributing assignment letters, answering writers' questions, providing follow-up, and serving as a liaison between writers and other editorial staff • Performing preliminary and/or subsequent edits on submitted manuscripts for grammar/punctuation, style, clarity and content • Researching and/or writing original articles • Meeting with editorial staff and publisher to plan content across titles • Planning seminar programming content/speakers for our annual Expos • Attending occasional industry events and educational seminars, networking with industry professionals to solicit sources/contributed content/ideas • Occasional light travel to regional trade shows and/or industry events About Our Company For more than three decades, Yale Robbins, Inc. has been the premier real estate publisher in New York City.
